PRSB publishes the updated Community Pharmacy Standard

Community pharmacy is central to the vision for improving people’s health and wellbeing and managing demand in general practice and other care settings. We have published the updated version of our Community Pharmacy Standard (v.3) to reflect changes to the Community Pharmacy Contractual Framework (CPCF) in England and the services it covers, along with other changes to make it ready for widespread implementation.

The standard will enable information on care and services provided by community pharmacists to be seamlessly transmitted back to the GP record, and to be available to the person and the wider NHS, ensuring safe, effective, and connected care.

Excellent feedback on PRSB's services

We’ve received an independent report on our services delivered to NHS England under the CISS contract. In their feedback, NHS project teams described PRSB as supportive, knowledgeable and resourceful.

One of the NHS participants said the following about the PRSB: “Whenever you need rationale behind something, they've always got that to provide. Because of the records that they keep, they go back, they check, and they let us know. There's never knowledge lost, which really helps in this area.” Another participant added that “PRSB were very helpful in doing some of the thinking around implementation, and how we make this a reality.”

The CISS contract allows the work to be commissioned more quickly and delivered in phases, supporting its continuity.

    Help support clinical informatics

The Faculty of Clinical Informatics (FCI) is calling on all of us to sign an open letter to Steve Barclay to speed up promised Government funding to continue its good work to train and accredit healthcare professionals in informatics. The FCI is concerned that it may take months to get ministerial sign off and the delay would threat the continuation of the organisation.
