Shared decision-making is at the heart of good care and PRSB’s standard captures critical information from shared decision-making conversations in a consistent way. This allows information to flow between the care providers that need it. In order to make good decisions about care, people need information about their options, the benefits and risks of various treatments and the time and support to decide what course of action is best for them. The standard supports this process, helping to deliver safe, high-quality care.
