We are very sorry to report that Professor Bernard Crump, a non-executive Board member and long-standing, trusted advisor to PRSB, has passed away peacefully at home following illness. We will always be grateful for his insight and active contributions to Advisory Board meetings and his dedicated work as Chair of our Assurance Committee. Bernard has been a great and positive influence on the direction of the PRSB and key to our success. Bernard was also always thoughtful and generous with his knowledge, and it has been a pleasure and an honour to have known him and work with him. We will all miss him so much.

Digital Maternity Record Standard - new version now published

We have now published the refreshed version of the Digital Maternity Record Standard to reflect improvements being made to maternity and perinatal care in line with the priorities outlined in NHS England’s three-year delivery plan for maternity and neonatal services.

Implementing the standard in IT systems will facilitate the exchange of information between maternity providers and maternity service users, enhancing the quality and safety of care.

The standard has been published as the final draft pending endorsement.

PRSB publishes a draft information model for workforce

In 2022, NHS England commissioned the PRSB to develop a workforce information model and data standards to help simplify the way data is recorded. These standards will ensure workforce data is consistent and accurate between systems and making workforce administration and planning easier for employees and employers alike.

A draft of the information model has now been published on our website. It will undergo a further process of development and consultation before it is presented to PRSB members for endorsement and formally released for implementation. We are currently in discussion with NHS England regarding these next steps.
