PRSB welcomes two new non-executive directors with social care and technical expertise 

 

We were pleased to announce the appointment of Claire Sutton and Charlie McCay as two new non-executive directors on PRSB’s Board. Claire is the digital transformation lead at The National Care Forum and a Registered Nurse (Adult), and Charlie has spent more than 30 years providing digital leadership and technical expertise to the NHS and international healthcare organisations. Both significantly bolster the Board’s expertise, bringing a wealth of experience on social care, digital transformation and technology, and we look forward to working with them to further the standards agenda.

It was a packed recent Advisory Board meeting for PRSB members, who heard from a variety of exciting speakers - including NHS England’ s Chief Information Officer, Simon Bolton, and Iain Bishop of the National Clinical Informatics Service in Scotland - and great enthusiasm was expressed for PRSB’s 2022 work programme.

PRSB welcomed VCare Systems and Graphnet to the Standards Partnership Scheme. With the vision to connect disparate healthcare systems through the power of integrated software, joining the Partnership Scheme was a natural next step for VCare Systems in its drive to transform primary care. Similarly, as a leading supplier of shared care records, Graphnet to join join the scheme in a bid to help accelerate the move towards full use of information standards underpinning shared care records

    Mala

    Mala Bridgelal-Ram

     

    It is with much sadness that we report on the passing of Mala Bridgelal-Ram in late December 2021 of illness not related to Covid. Mala was instrumental in the founding of PRSB and worked tirelessly to establish the organisation from setting up the business management to getting key stakeholders involved and building our website. Mala was a great friend to all in PRSB and very few people could have persevered in the early stages and delivered in the way she did whilst being a lovely colleague and friend. PRSB sends our deepest condolences to Mala’s family and friends at this difficult time.

    The 2022 Partner Event schedule kicks off with the Core Information Standard

     

    January saw the first Partner Event of the year, with PRSB Partners joined by OneLondon’s Gary McAllister and new PRSB board director, Charlie McCay who gave an update on the Core Information Standard and progress with the shared care record, including its alignment with Integrated Care Systems. February’s event will focus on the PRSB’s standards route map.

    PRSB awarded the Core Information and Standards Service

     

    PRSB was recently awarded a four-year contract for a Core information and Standards Service with NHSX. This contract is split into two parts with a core contract covering the resources and infrastructure to deliver our Advisory Board and developing further our vital role in engaging with a range of representatives from patient/people organisations and representatives, professional groups, Royal Colleges and the UK’s devolved administrations.

    The G7 International Patient Summary is a resulting action of G7 countries' commitment to deliver on the rights of patients to have access to their health information, through using open and interoperable standards. You can now read the government's roadmap for supporting this strategy.

    Usability survey

    REVIEW: updated version of UK Core (0.3.0 Pre-Release)

     

    The version of UK Core (0.3.0) Pre-Release that has been updated following Sprint 4 of Clinical and Technical Assurance is now available as a pre-release for review.

     

    You have until the 10th February to submit your views and raise issues but please note that the raising of issues should only be related to the changes done for Sprint 4 and this period is not intended for full review of the implementation guide.
