More than 2 million people in the UK suffer from chronic wounds, which cause pain, emotional distress, and impact on an individual’s quality of life. The PRSB has published a Wound Care Information Standard, which will support the use of evidence-based practice and consistent recording of information that can be shared with professionals involved in the person’s care. The development of the standard was commissioned by the National Wound Care Strategy Programme (NWCSP). It covers the assessment, management, maintenance, and prevention of lower limb (leg and foot wounds), pressure ulcers and surgical wounds.
We are pleased to welcome FDB, a supplier of medicines optimisation and clinical decision support solutions, and Cura Systems, a supplier of a digital system for complex care, as our new partners. We are looking forward to supporting them in their standards journey

Our 111 Referral Standard achieves an ISN
The PRSB has created a standard to support clear and concise information flows between the 111 referrer and the receiving services and professionals or clinicians to support safe and effective care. The standard has now achieved an ISN status as part of the BaRS (Booking and Referrals Standard) ISN.

PRSB's Advisory Board meeting
Earlier this month, we hosted our Advisory Board meeting in which we discussed our work on the Federated Data Platform, emerging AI technologies and the role of standards in their development, Scotland’s data strategy and interoperability commitments, and the adoption review of Transfers of Care standards.
We were out and about this month presenting at major conferences on the importance of standards in digital health and care at the Digital Innovation Conference, held by the Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust. We also had our PRSB representatives speaking at the Digital Healthcare Show about the role of standards in building joined-up care, managing diabetes, and regulating innovations.
