PRSB’s statement on the House of Commons Health and Social Care Committee
Poor uptake of standards and interoperability is holding the NHS and social care back from digital sharing of care records, an Expert Panel concluded in a report to the House of Commons Health and Social Care Committee this month.
Our Chair, Prof Maureen Baker, CBE, was a member of the panel and contributed to the report, which evaluated the Government’s commitments to digitisation of the NHS.
Professor Dame Jane Dacre, who chaired the Expert Panel, said: “We heard about issues with interoperability between systems and providers, making it difficult for all parts of the system to communicate effectively, leading to delays and efficiency losses.”
